Moving house is a stressful business, even if you are just going round
the corner. When the move involves many hundreds of miles over land,
sea, and international borders, it’s easy to imagine the ensuing
chaos. In this case it’s crucial to hire a company with a

The first step is to contact KJM and advise them of your needs
whether it’s a ‘full’ or ‘partial’
removal, the type and size of property and weather there are any
‘new’ goods. KJM can even purchase new goods on your
behalf, allowing VAT to be reclaimed almost instantly.
The client's specific requirements will then be discussed. Once
this has been established, KJM will then arrange for one of their
vast list of removal experts to visit the client, thus ascertaining
access and volume.
Once the removers have quoted their prices, these are passed on
to the client, who can decide who they prefer to handle the export
packaging and wrapping. Once this has been agreed, KJM will then
provide two full door to door estimates, depending on shipping methods
and itemising all of the charges involved.
In the case of a partial removal, the client passes KJM a list
of the main furniture, and by using specialist computer software,
they can then calculate the volume and provide a full written door
to door quotation.
Once you accept the price, KJM advises as to the next available
vessel. (The only direct service to lanzarote departs fortnightly
from Felixstowe). Having thier own Mairine 'Open' Insurance Cover,
they can offer marine insurance on a door to door basis, and can
advise on how to get exactly the policy you need, as well as the
best premium. Once the shipping date is confirmed, copies of all
the required documents for import can be passed to the client together
with a list, if required, of all the customs brokers with whom KJM
work closely in Lanzarote.
It’s entirely acceptable for client's to pack their own belongings
and deliver them to KJM – the company will even provide valuable
advice on packing methods. Clients are also welcome to watch their
property being loaded. The whole business is transparent from start
to finish.
